Google Business Profile management

Get Found On The Map. Get Chosen By Customers Nearby.

Your Google Business Profile is often the first thing a new customer sees, before your website and before they ring. We set it up, get it verified and keep it working, so more people nearby find you and choose you. Part of local SEO, from £250 a month.

What is a Google Business Profile?

The Free Listing That Puts You On Google Maps And In Local Search.

When someone searches for “plumber near me” or the name of your business, the panel with your hours, photos, reviews and a button to call comes from your Google Business Profile. It’s how you get on Google Maps.

Getting one is free. Getting the most from it takes steady work: the right categories, honest photos, fresh posts and replies to every review. Most small businesses set theirs up once and never touch it again. That’s the gap we close.

How Google decides

Three Things Decide Who Shows Up On The Map.

Google says local results are based mainly on three things. We work on all three, though distance comes down to where you are.

  • Relevance

How well your profile matches what someone searched for. Complete, detailed information helps Google understand what you do. This is where categories, services and your description earn their keep.

  • Distance

How far you are from the person searching. You can’t move your business, so we make sure Google has your location and service area right.

  • Prominence

How well known you are. Google looks at things like how many reviews you have and how many websites link to you. Reviews, replies and a strong website all feed into this.

Google is clear that there’s no way to pay for a better local ranking. Anyone who says otherwise is selling something.

Getting started

Set Up Properly. Verified By Google.

Your profile only shows properly once Google has verified that you’re a real business at a real place. Here’s how it goes:

  • Claim or create. If Google already has a listing for you, we help you claim it. If not, we create one, with your name exactly as it appears on your signage.
  • Verify. Google decides which verification methods you’re offered, based on your type of business, your region and other details. It might be a phone call, a text, an email, a video recording, a live video call or a postcard to your address. We tell you what to expect and help you get it right first time.
  • Wait for the check. Google says verification reviews can take up to five working days. If it’s a postcard, most codes arrive within 14 days and expire after 30.
  • Fill in everything. Hours, holiday hours, phone, website, description, attributes, services and photos. Google says businesses with complete and accurate information are more likely to show up in local results.
What we manage

Every Part Of Your Profile. Kept Up To Date.

  • 01

    Categories And Services

Google’s advice is to use as few categories as possible and choose ones that finish the sentence “this business is a”, not “has a”. We pick your main category carefully, then list the services you actually want more of.

  • 02

    Description And Details

A clear description, written for customers (Google allows up to 750 characters), plus opening hours, special hours, attributes and the right links.

  • 03

    Photos And Videos

Real photos of your work, your team and your premises, added regularly. People want to see who they’re about to call.

  • 04

    Posts

Updates, offers and events, which show on your profile in Search and Maps. A quick way to show you’re open, busy and worth a call.

  • 05

    Products And Menus

Your menu if you’re a restaurant or cafe, or your products if you’re a shop, so people can see what you sell before they visit.

  • 06

    Reviews And Replies

A simple way to ask happy customers for reviews, and a reply to every one, good or bad. Google says more reviews and positive ratings can help your local ranking, and replying shows you value the feedback.

  • 07

    Questions From Customers

Where Google shows questions and answers for your type of business, we keep them answered. And we make sure the answers to common questions are on your profile and your website too.

Service area or shopfront?

Set Up For How You Actually Work.

Google treats businesses differently depending on where you serve customers, and getting this wrong is one of the most common problems we see.

  • Customers come to you (a restaurant, salon, shop or office): your address shows on the map.
  • You go to customers (a plumber, builder, cleaner or mobile mechanic): Google’s guidelines say you should hide your address and set a service area instead. You can list up to 20 areas, but the whole area shouldn’t stretch more than about two hours’ drive from your base.
  • Both: if customers visit you and you also travel to them, you can show your address and a service area.
Staying on Google’s right side

Stay On Google’s Right Side. Stay On The Map.

Google can suspend or disable profiles that don’t follow its guidelines. A suspended profile disappears from the map, usually at the worst possible time. We keep you within the rules:

  • Your business name exactly as it is on your signage, with no taglines, locations or keywords added
  • A real address you can be visited at, never a PO box
  • A local phone number that you control
  • A service area that matches where you actually work
  • Name or address changes handled carefully, because Google may ask you to verify again
  • Honest reviews only: we never buy, swap or write them

If your profile has already been suspended, we’ll look at the reason Google gives, help you gather evidence like your business registration or a utility bill, and help you submit an appeal. We can’t promise Google will reinstate it, but we’ll make the strongest honest case we can.

How it all connects

Your Profile And Your Website Work As A Team.

Your profile sends people to your website, and your website gives Google more reasons to trust your profile. When they say the same thing (same name, address, phone number, services and areas), Google can be more confident about showing you.

Your profile is the biggest part of local SEO, but it isn’t the whole job. Local SEO also covers your listings on other directories, pages on your website for the areas you serve, and tracking where you rank across your patch. That’s why we manage your profile as part of local SEO rather than on its own. More on local SEO →
