Electricians in Walton, restaurants on Bold Street, builders working both sides of the Mersey. When someone in Liverpool searches for what you do, your name should be the one they find. We help make that happen. SEO from £400 a month, local SEO from £250.
There are 14,975 VAT or PAYE registered businesses in the Liverpool council area, according to the ONS (UK Business Counts, 2026). 87.3% are micro businesses with fewer than ten people.
What makes Liverpool different is the mix. Construction is the second biggest group, with 1,830 businesses, or 12.2% of the total. That’s a much bigger share than in Manchester, where construction is 7.7%. Food and hospitality (1,550) and retail (1,555) are close behind, and arts, entertainment and recreation make up another 1,325 businesses. Professional and technical firms are still the largest group, at 2,360.
In other words, a lot of Liverpool’s businesses are the kind people find on their phone when they need someone today: a plumber, an electrician, somewhere to eat tonight. That’s exactly the kind of search local SEO is built for.
We’re a Manchester team based in Whitefield, with design, development and marketing under one roof. We work with Liverpool businesses over video call. No travel time. No wasted mornings. Just a quick call when there’s something worth talking about.
Real local searches for Liverpool, with monthly UK volume bands and difficulty ratings from Ahrefs (October 2026).
| Search | Monthly searches | How hard to rank |
|---|---|---|
| restaurants liverpool | 1,000+ | Medium |
| seo liverpool | 1,000+ | Easy |
| plumber liverpool | 100+ | Easy |
| electrician liverpool | 100+ | Medium |
| house extension builders liverpool | 100+ | Not rated |
| accountants liverpool | 100+ | Hard |
| estate agents liverpool | 100+ | Hard |
The trades have a real opening. “Plumber liverpool” is rated Easy and “electrician liverpool” Medium. Both are searched hundreds of times a month. For a trade business with a decent website and a well-kept map listing, page one is a realistic goal. Not a dream.
Bigger jobs get searched too. “House extension builders liverpool” gets more than 100 searches a month. These are high-value enquiries from people planning to spend serious money, and a builder with a page that answers their questions properly is in a strong position.
Professional services are tougher. Accountants and estate agents are both rated Hard in Liverpool. That doesn’t mean don’t bother. It means aim at the specific searches first. Your area. Your specialism. The questions your clients ask.
Restaurants are busy but crowded. Over a thousand searches a month, rated Medium. Your Google Business Profile, photos and reviews will do much of the work here, alongside a site that makes booking easy.
In October 2026 we looked at who ranks for some everyday Liverpool searches and ran simple checks on their websites. The samples are small, so treat these as what we found, not as figures for every Liverpool business.
We checked five electricians’ websites.
None of the three independent restaurants we checked had a tap-to-call link on their homepage, and two of the three had no restaurant schema. All three did link to table booking, which is good, but anyone who just wants to ring and ask has to copy the number by hand.
All five dental practices we checked had secure sites, tap-to-call and online booking. Even so, two of the five were missing local business schema. In a sector this well served, small technical gaps like that can be the difference.
When we looked at the results for “SEO Liverpool”, several of the pages ranking belonged to agencies based elsewhere that run pages for lots of cities. We’re upfront about being one of those ourselves: a Manchester team. The difference we offer is a page, and a service, built on real Liverpool data rather than a template with the city name swapped in.
Plenty of Liverpool businesses, especially trades, work across Liverpool, the Wirral, Sefton and Knowsley. Google treats these as different places, and someone searching in Birkenhead or Crosby won’t always see a business listed only as “Liverpool”.
Here’s how we handle it:
For city centre businesses, the focus is different. The Baltic Triangle alone is home to more than 500 businesses and has attracted £128m of investment (Bdaily, March 2026). Liverpool BID Company represents 865 levy payers across its three BIDs. In streets this busy, the map pack is crowded, and reviews, photos and a complete profile are what lift you above the business next door.

We rebuilt Wrapd’s website around enquiries and rebuilt their Google Ads around the new site. Their conversion rate doubled, their cost per enquiry halved, and they had 338 more leads than the same period the year before. Good search work isn’t about traffic for its own sake. It’s about visitors who turn into customers.
“They’ve built us two cracking websites, a custom questionnaire for our backend, and have been a huge help with SEO and Google Ads/PPC. Since working with them, the quality and consistency of our leads has massively improved.”
If your site has a 2020 footer, no tap-to-call button and a homepage that crawls on a phone, SEO is pushing uphill. We build fast websites that are ready for Google from day one. £1,000 to start, then from £200 a month, and after 12 months the website is yours to keep. Web design in Liverpool →

Yes. We’re based in Whitefield and do nearly all our work over video call, so distance doesn’t change anything. What matters is understanding Liverpool’s searches and competition, which is why this page is built on real local data.
Less than you might think. Ahrefs rates “plumber liverpool” as Easy and “electrician liverpool” as Medium, and several of the electricians’ sites we checked had clear gaps. A trade business that gets the basics right has a good chance of moving up.
Yes. We set your Google Business Profile service area to match where you actually work, and build pages for the areas you cover most. Your rankings will usually be strongest closest to your base, so we focus effort where it brings the most work.
Yes. For restaurants, your Google Business Profile does a lot of the heavy lifting: photos, menu, opening hours and reviews. We’ll also fix the small things that lose bookings, like a phone number you can’t tap to call.
Your SEO is carried out by our specialist SEO partner and managed by us. You deal with Dan and Jordan, who agree the plan with you, check the work and report back every month.
No. Nobody controls Google’s results, and anyone who promises first place is guessing. We promise honest work, clear reports and effort pointed at the searches that bring you customers.
A 6-month minimum, then month to month.
No hard sell. Just an honest conversation about your website, your map listing and your local competitors, and what we’d do first. It’s all by phone or video call, so there’s no trip down the M62.
