Why most restaurant websites lose covers

Hungry People Decide Fast. Most Restaurant Websites Make Them Wait.

Think about how people actually choose where to eat. They’re on a phone, often already out, searching “restaurants near me” or the name of a place a friend mentioned. They want three things: what’s on the menu, whether you’re open, and how to book. If they can’t find all three in a few seconds, they go back to Google and pick someone else.

That’s where most restaurant websites fall down.

  • 01

    The Menu Is A PDF.

It takes an age to download, you have to pinch and zoom to read it, and half the time it’s last season’s menu because updating it means a call to whoever made the website.

  • 02

    The Hours Are Wrong.

The website says one thing, Google says another, and a family turns up to find the doors locked on a bank holiday. That’s a bad review waiting to happen.

  • 03

    Booking Is Buried.

A “contact us” form instead of a proper booking button, or a booking link hidden three menus deep. Every extra step loses you a table.

  • 04

It Looks Nothing Like The Food.

A slow, dated template undoes years of work on the cooking, the room and the service.

A restaurant website has one job. Turn someone hungry and curious into a booked table or a walk-in. We design every part of it around that.

What we build in

Everything A Restaurant Website Should Do. Nothing It Shouldn’t.

  • Menus That Aren’t PDFs

Your menus become proper web pages: quick to load, easy to read on a small screen, and readable by Google too. Lunch, dinner, Sunday, drinks and set menus each get their own clear section. When a dish changes, send us a message and we’ll update it as part of your plan.

  • Table Booking, Built In

Most restaurants already use an online booking system. We build it into the website so booking takes two taps from any page, with a “Book a table” button that stays on screen on mobile. If you don’t take bookings, we’ll make walk-in times, queue information and phone booking just as obvious.

  • Allergen And Dietary Information

Clear labels for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, and an easy way to find information on the 14 major allergens, or a clear line telling guests to speak to your team. It saves your staff time on the phone and helps guests with allergies trust you before they arrive.

  • Opening Hours That Match Google

Your hours, holiday hours and kitchen times sit in one place on the website and line up with your Google Business Profile. We also add the behind-the-scenes code that tells Google your hours, cuisine and whether you take reservations, so the right details show up in search.

  • Mobile-First, Because Your Guests Are

We design for the phone first, then scale up to a laptop. Big tap targets, click-to-call, one-tap directions in Maps, and pages that load fast even on a weak signal in a city centre.

  • Photos That Do The Food Justice

Your dishes, your room and your team, shown large and loading fast. If you don’t have good photos yet, the done-for-you option includes a simple shot list you can take on your phone, or carefully chosen stock for the bits that need it.

  • Private Dining, Events And Group Bookings

Big tables and private hire are often the most valuable bookings you take. They get their own page and a short enquiry form that asks the right questions: date, numbers, budget and occasion.

  • Takeaway, Delivery And Gift Vouchers

If you sell through a delivery app or your own ordering system, or offer gift vouchers through a provider, we link to them clearly so customers don’t have to hunt.

  • Easy Changes, Without The Hassle

New menu, new hours, a festive set menu, a closure for refurbishment. Small changes are included for the first 12 months, so you send them over and we handle it.

Two ways to start

A Restaurant Website You Own. At A Price That Ends.

No expensive agency build where every menu change costs money. No pay-monthly website you rent forever. Just a sensible price, and a website that’s yours to keep.

Wrapd Studios: Same Budget, Twice The Enquiries.

Wrapd isn’t a restaurant, but it’s a local business like yours that lives or dies on people taking one action: getting in touch. After we rebuilt their website around enquiries, Wrapd doubled their conversion rate and halved their cost per enquiry, adding 338 leads compared with the same period the year before. For a restaurant, that one action is a booking, and we design for it the same way.

Getting found

Win The “Restaurants Near Me” Search. Fill More Tables.

When someone searches for somewhere to eat, Google shows a map with three places before any normal results. For restaurants, cafes and bars, that map is where most new guests come from. Here’s how we help you get on it.

Your Google Business Profile, done properly. The right categories, accurate hours, your menu, booking link and good photos. It’s included in the done-for-you option.

A website Google can read. Real menu pages, your cuisine and area in the right places, and Restaurant schema behind the scenes. A PDF menu tells Google almost nothing. A proper menu page tells it exactly what you serve.

Pages for how people search. “Sunday lunch in Whitefield”, “vegan cafe in Chester”, “private dining room Manchester”. If people search for it and you offer it, it can have its own page. If you have more than one site, each location gets its own page with its own hours, menu and booking link.

Reviews that keep coming. Google reviews matter for the map pack. We’ll make it easy for happy guests to leave one, with a short link you can put on receipts and table cards.

If you want to push further, our local SEO service works on your Google Business Profile, reviews and local listings every month.
